Personal History: Dinesh was born into extreme poverty, and both of his parents died of unknown causes. The government then brought Dinesh to the Balmandir Orphanage when he was very young. The records show that he has an older brother named Ramesh who works as a cook and visits occasionally.

What makes me special?: Dinesh is in the 9th grade and is a bright, hardworking student. He currently ranks 4th in his class of 20 students. He is full of spunk and personality, loves to play basketball and has many friends, who call him “the Doctor”. Dinesh’s life ambition is to become a hydro electrical engineer, so that he can help his country experience 24 hours of electricity. His “plan B” is to become an aeronautic engineer or a “tourist guide.” Dinesh expresses love and gratitude to his sponsors. He says that if they could come to Nepal, he would be their enthusiastic guide and would “take them to the mountains, and share with them the traditional food and the histories of the place.”
