| 14. Harasha (Age 10) Personal History: As a toddler, Harsha’s father abandoned him, his mother and his twin sister in the province of Darchula, Katmandu. The mother was economically devastated and developed a serious illness. Unable to care for Pushba or Harsha, they were placed at Balmandir Orphanage at age 5. Harsha’s twin, Pushba, was sponsored by HCC in 2008. When HCC discovered that Pushpa had a twin, Harsha was also sponsored and is now reunited with his sister. What makes me special?: “Harsha”, which means “Happiness/Joy” in Nepali, is a happy boy who loves to dance, sing and play with other children, but especially loves being with his twin sister, Pushpa. His favorite sport is football (soccer). His favorite subjects in school are science and English, and he wants to be a doctor or an engineer when he grows up, His favorite color is yellow. | |
