| 16. Jeewan (Age 16) Personal History: There is no record of Jeewan’s parent’s names, but we do know that Jeewan’s father died when he was very young and that his mother was mentally ill. The government removed Jeewan and put him in the Balmandir Orphanage when he was a toddler. He has no memory of his parents or of any other life other than at the orphanage. What makes me special?: “Jeewan” means “life” in Nepalese. He is in the 8th grade and is a bright, hardworking student. He is a happy boy who always has a smile for others, loves to sing, play basketball, and loves to read, especially adventure stories. His life ambition is to become a doctor, and his “plan B” is to become an accountant. Jeewan’s favorite subject is science. He wants his sponsor to know that he is “so happy” at school, and would love to hug him and “express his feelings” of gratitude. | |
