Personal History: According to the records at the orphanage, Arjun’s father was kidnapped and killed by Maoists during the insurgency in Nepal. His mother was left destitute and very ill. She asked the government to shelter Arjun and his two little sisters, and they were placed at the Balmandir Orphanage. His youngest sister Deepa is still at the orphanage, but his sister Benita is now also sponsored by HCC. For the Dashain holiday every year, Arjun and his sisters travel to where their mother now lives, in a small village in the eastern part of Nepal.

What makes me special?: Arjun is in the 6th grade and is a bright, hardworking student. He is a happy, active boy who loves to play football and has many friends. His life ambition is to become a doctor. Arjun has a hunger for learning and wants to help others. He expresses love and gratitude to his sponsors.
