| 33. Ram (Age 16) Personal History: Ram’s mother and father died when he was very young and he was placed in the Balmandir Orphanage as a small child. He has an uncle who visits occasionally. During the Dashain holiday, Ram visits his uncle in his birth village, so he doesn’t have to return to the orphanage. What makes me special?: Ram, which means “name of God” in Nepalese, is in the 7th grade and is a bright, hardworking student. He is very creative and dreams of being a famous painter one day. His “Plan B” is to be a doctor, so he can give back to his country. He is an active, healthy teenage boy who loves to play soccer and basketball with his friends. Ram appreciates his opportunity for an education, and he expresses love and gratitude to his sponsor. Ram hopes that his sponsor can visit Nepal so that he can take him trekking and show him the beautiful, historical places in his country. | |
