Personal History: As toddler, Sonu was abandoned in the Gaurigaun province of Gaushala, Katmandu. She was discovered by a patrolling policeman and subsequently was not claimed by any relatives. She was placed at Balmandir Orphanage at age 3. Sonu has no memories of her family or birth place. Since she has no known relatives, she spends the Dashain holiday back at the orphanage.

What makes me special?: Sonu is an active, happy girl who loves to sing, dance and play soccer. Her favorite subject is math, and her favorite color is pink. Her life ambition is to be a teacher so that she can help other children learn. Her “Plan B” is to be a doctor or a police-woman. Sonu currently is in the first grade and is a bright, hardworking student. Her class rank last year in the upper kindergarten was 2nd out of 10.
